Jennie Stuart Health has resumed some limited visitation that includes a patient to have one (1) visitor/support person at a time.
Visiting hours continue to be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. With the exception of our Maternity and NICU departments, our visitors are welcome to rotate out with one other visitor once during the allotted visitation hours each day.
To assist with this process, entrance restrictions are as follows:
- The 18th Street entrance remains open only for outpatient infusion, cardiac rehabilitation, and pulmonary rehabilitation patients.
- All other visitors are asked to enter through the main entrance near the emergency department. Screenings will be provided at these two locations. No other hospital entrances will be open.
- E.C. Green Cancer Center patients will continue to enter through the Wallace Building where screenings will be conducted before entry.
All visitors must provide their name, phone number, and patient they are visiting. Upon arrival, visitors will be screened for fever, COVID-19 symptoms, and will be asked if they have been in contact with a lab-confirmed COVID-19 patient within the last 14 days. Symptoms of COVID-19 include: fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell.
Visitors will be provided a surgical mask upon screening and will be required to wear a mask or face-covering while in the healthcare facility. Visitors may choose to wear their own cloth face-covering.
We ask that visitors remain in the patient room at all times during their visit. Waiting rooms are for patient use only.
For the protection of our patients, visitors, and staff, visitors presenting with a fever greater than 100°F, symptoms of COVID-19, have been in contact with a lab- confirmed COVID-19 patient, and those unwilling to wear a mask will be asked to reschedule their visit to a later date.
*No visitors under the age of 16 years old will be allowed.
*Essential caregivers (one healthy adult) must accompany patients under the age of 18 and adult patients who are physically dependent or vulnerable and require assistance.
*With prior arrangement, visitors of patients at end-of-life may be allowed to visit outside of the posted visiting hours.
New Visitor Guidelines include:
Emergency Department: No visitors will be allowed. Patients may be dropped off and family/friend may provide a telephone number for contact.
Inpatient Non-COVID Patients/Critical Care: One visitor is allowed following appropriate screening and masking protocols from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Maternity and NICU: Visitation is limited to one birthing partner that should remain the same throughout the duration of the mother’s stay. NICU is limited to the parents of the baby only.
Outpatient Infusions/Outpatient Laboratory and Radiology Procedures: No visitors will be allowed unless the patient is disabled or otherwise not able to attend their appointment without their support person.
Surgery patients: One visitor will be allowed to accompany a patient for surgical procedures. The visitor is to wait in their car until notified by the staff for further instructions. Once the patient's surgical procedure is complete, the visitor will be notified of next steps and visiting opportunities.
COVID-19 patients and those patients being screened for COVID-19 will not be allowed to have visitors unless the patient’s condition warrants a restricted visit related to the patient outcome.
Visitors must:
- Wash their hands before and after a visit
- Wear a mask at all times
- Use the designated entrance and exit by the Emergency Department.
- Visiting hours will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
JSH is constantly reviewing current recommendations, guidelines, and general COVID-19 information to make certain that our patients, visitors, staff, and providers are informed and protected. These guidelines are subject to change should there be a significant increase in the number or trajectory of COVID-19 cases within our community.
