Dr. Riggs was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He received his undergraduate degree in 1986 from Welch College in Nashville, TN while also receiving his Pre-Medical Education from Tennessee State University in 1986. Upon his undergrad he continued his education at Nova Southeastern University of the Health Services College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he earned his medical degree and performed his internships, residency in internal medicine as well as gastroenterology.

He joined Jennie Stuart Health in 1996, and has since been serving the greater Western Kentucky area. Dr. Riggs is board certified in Internal Medicine in addition to gastroenterology and is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists and American Gastroenterological Association.

Dr. Riggs enjoys spending quality time with his family on his free time.
